One of the most exciting and educational theme parks in Florida is the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Center (KSC) at Cape Canaveral! KSC is presently open during Covid-19, under enhanced safety precautions. This meant that attractions usually on the general admission ticket such as appearances, photos and autographs with astronauts, a bus tour of the Apollo/Saturn V Center and options like Astronaut Training Experience and Mars Base 1 were not being offered. Because of this, a complimentary admission ticket valid for use beginning January 1, 2021 through December 25, 2021 was included with our tickets. So, we’ll be sure to come back next year to video “Part 2” of our KSC experience.
The attractions we did get to see included the following:
· Heroes and Legends featuring the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame
· Rocket Garden
· Nature and Technology
· Space Shuttle Atlantis with Shuttle Launch Experience®
· NASA Now
· Journey to Mars: Explorers Wanted
· Universe Theater
· IMAX Theater
Of these, our favorite was the “Space Shuttle Atlantis with Shuttle Launch Experience”. So, we suggest that you visit this attraction first. With all the cinema events offered (the last 4 on the list directly above) time passes fast, so it was important not to waste time. We arrived there before the 10am opening and we stayed until closing at 4pm. So, during the almost 7 hour we were there we kept very busy!
The only let down of the day was that the Spacex launch carrying 50 satellites was cancelled due to the weather. We wasted almost an hour to see the launch when we could have been viewing other KSC attractions.
We would advise you to get there by 9am so the car lineup won’t be so long. Please watch our video below so we can hare our experience with you! (Show video below)
